JOC Street Banners in Celebration of One Year Anniversary of the JOC Partner City Designation

Yamanashi Prefecture

Fujiyoshida City was designated as a Japan Olympic Committee (referred to henceforth as “JOC”) partner in March 2020. This designation comes on the heels of 4 years of the city’s implementation of the “JOC Olympic Workshop” a central part of the Olympic Movement and its commitment to continuing to support the Olympic movement while promoting sports in the long term.

The street banners were created in celebration of the one year anniversary of the city’s JOC Partner City designation with the intent of raising public awareness and enthusiasm leading up to the Tokyo Olympic games as well as promoting the Olympic movement.

On the day of the banners being hung, the city invited their own local Olympian, freestyle wrestling gold medalist Tatsuhiro Yonemitsu, to share the banners and a message of encouragement with the public.
