American Youtuber Promotes Fujiyoshida to the World
Fujiyoshida City became sister cities with Colorado Springs, CO in 1962 and has since shared countless exchanges with its American Sister City. It was thanks to this strong existing relationship that Fujiyoshida also became an Olympic Host Town to the United States dedicated to implementing social, economic and cultural exchange programs between the two countries during the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Paralympic Games.

As part of the Host Town exchange initiative, American Youtuber Loretta Scott featured the city on her channel promoting local tourism, history, culture and industry. The hope is that this window into local famous sites and the lives of the people who live here will make viewers feel closer and more familiar with Fujiyoshida, the city at the base of Mt. Fuji, and that even more people will feel inspired to visit.

Ms. Scott produces content about Japan to her audience of over 182,000 subscribers. Each video ranges from 10-20 minutes on average and features content on everything from Japanese language, food culture, tourism, history and more.
The promotional video created by Ms. Scott on this occasion gave us an opportunity to revisit the city’s abundant nature and tourism potential as well as the charm of the local people. We are confident that the Host Town exchange initiative will not end with each project but will rather create a lasting legacy of shared cultural awareness and understanding between our two countries into the future.
