A video message for the French Rugby Federation
Fujiyoshida City was registered as the Olympic Host Town for France in June 2016 and has worked toward preparations for the French National Rugby Sevens’ training camp leading up to the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games ever since.
The city also previously served as the Team Camp and pre-training site for the French national team, providing assistance and support during the 2019 Rugby World Cup.
Unfortunately due to the global spread of COVID-19, the Tokyo Olympics were postponed for a year and so too were plans to host the French Men’s and Women’s National Rugby Sevens Teams in preparation for the games.
In light of this, Fujiyoshida City created a video message to express the city’s appreciation for the French National Team for the time they spent in the city as well as the time they shared with local residents thus far.
In response to the message, the French Rugby Federation extended the following sentiments: “A wonderful message that displays the deep friendship between the French Rugby Federation and Fujiyoshida City. We are very happy and grateful to receive this message. We look forward to seeing you again next year.”
We continue to pray for the swift eradication of COVID-19 and are committed to maintaining our close ties with the French Rugby Federation come what may.
